Characteristics: Establishes in single stand forests, although there can be some mixed stands with pine or beech. Prefers most, cool shady spots. Is indifferent to the soil type, although this substrate must be deep and permeable. A tree that can reach up to 50 m in height. Known for its short leaves (up to 3 cm in length), linear, compressed and margined at the apex. Also characteristic is the cone, erect and cylindrical, up to 20 cm in length.
