Characteristics: This small plant lives lying along or inside the periodic ponds forming rugs or carpets; it has small, opposite, linear leaves that are slightly crassulaceous The flowers are very small and pink. The whole plant has a reddish colour at the end of its cycle. The appearance of the plant is very different from the other species of this genus which live in the Balearics (Crassula tillaea) and can hardly be mistaken, the latter lives in the moors and is normally erect with very overlapping leaves.
