Characteristics: This small herb can appear to be isolated but also forming a kind of carpet, and as it is reddish, it can be identified from afar by the colour of the fields. It has more or less lanceolate leaves which are less than 2 cm in width, it is therefore the smallest subspecies of the Rumex genus. The fruit is also very characteristic: curved downwards, covered with spiklets. It flowers throughout spring.
