Characteristics: A very tiny plant, scarcely a few centimetres in height. It forms a rosette of basal leaves, with a wide, obtuse tip; the flowers are blue and around four centimetres long. It generally lives in moist soils, which can become flooded, without carbonates, forming part of the plant communities of tiny plants. Solenopsis minuta subsp. balearica is quite a lot larger, it is perennial and lives in the cracks where water trickles.
