Characteristics: Bermuda grass is a Gramene that is typical of our flora, but is also used in gardening to make lawns. This is thanks to its long stolons which allow it to rapidly colonise the land and make it resistant to treading. It is quite easy to recognise if it is in flower, since it develops 3 to 7 narrow, elongated spikes which all grow out of the same place. The leaves are short, hard and are arranged more or less perpendicularly to the stalk. It can be found in flower practically all year round, but more often in summer. The genuses Digitaria and Paspalon form similar inflorescences.
