Characteristics: All the species of the Medicago genus have curled pods in the shape of a spiral, and trifoliate leaves. Medicago murex has a very compact fruit, like a small barrel without spines. It lives in more or less moist meadows, it can be mistaken for Medicago tuberculata, but the underside of the leaves and the stems are pubescent.
