Habitats: Non-saline wetlands (intermittent watercourses, streams, artesian wells, ditches). Walls, ditches, streams and humid rock creviceses.

Characteristics: A very characteristic fern, with a very large lamina (150 cm.). The pinnae are numerous, (15-55) not divided, linear, sharp, margin serrate auricled at the base. This a very characteristic plant and it's difficult to mistake it for another fern due to its large size and numerous and undivided pinnae.
