Characteristics: An annual pilose plant that can reach 60 cm. in height. Corolla flowers are well developed; an intense pink colour and the petals are deeply divided into two lobules. The calyx is cylindrical with 10 well-differentiated nerves. The capsule is sub cylindric with seeds flat, undulate and reticulate.
