Characteristics: Small erect plant with leaves opposite and fairly linear. The flowers are formed on the upper story, with small or inexistent petals, which is why we so often cannot see them. The calyx is ovoid and covered with hairs. Upon bearing fruit also forms a capsule ovoid in shape. We can distinguish this plant from other similar species such as Silene nocturna, by the linear leaves and the peduncle that is much longer than the flowers when they fructify, additionally the seeds have two marginal wings. Flowers during the winter and spring.
