Characteristics: This small plant can be identified form a great distance by its reddish colourations. Ha leaves that are more or less lanceolated and less than 2 cm. in width, and this species is smallest of the Rumex genus. The fruit is also characteristic: curved downwards and covered with small spines. Differs from the rest of the subspecies mainly by its fruit morphology. This species has graceful and erect stems, the fruit with very dentate valves.
