Description: This is a more or less thorny, climbing plant which forms groups of three purple bracts arranged in groups of three just under the tops of the flowers, which are usually mistaken for petals. The flowers, on the other hand, are not clearly visible. Each inflorescence has 3 small, tubular flowers, 14-24mm in length, with cream-coloured petals. The alternate leaves with small petioles can measure up to 60mm long.
