Characteristics: Genista dorycnifolia is an endemism exclusive to the island of Eivissa, occupying the garrigues (Mediterranean woodland) in the north-western part of the island. Its upper branches are elongated, green and erect, with leaves divided into elongated leaflets. It can be distinguished from Chronanthus biflorus, because the latter has square-sectioned stalks and the flowers are grouped in pairs. The subspecies dorycnifolia is the most abundant, the subspecies grosii has also been described living in the Amunts; but both the plant and the inflorescence are more compact.
