Characteristics: This species of the Carex genus lives only in siliceous soils, in the Balearics it only appears in the North of Menorca. It is characterised by its spikelets which stick out on a long, filiform leaf-stalk which begins at the base of the leaves. The leaves are green and longer than the stem of the inflorescences. We will find it in flower during spring.
