Habitats: Alpine grasslands. Mesophyll mountainous grasslands.

Characteristics: Alpine or subalpine pastures, independently of the substrate type, and in dry places. A plant that is densely caespitose with leaves flat, light green and narrow (2-4 mm). Has two types of spikes, one sole male (3-5 mm in width) and various female (± next to one another). The utricles are pubescents and have a beak.
