Characteristics: This Gramene lives exclusively in the cracks of the rocky walls of the Serra de Tramuntana. It has short, flat leaves which are slightly tough to the touch. The inflorescence is very compact and is often bluish. We mustn't mistake it for Dactylis glomerata, which also has a dense inflorescence, but in this case it is asymmetrical; all the spikelets are grouped along one side of the stem holding them. It flowers in spring.
