Characteristics : A Gramene with racemes of spikelets all of which are dense, often branched, and reddish; they are unequivocally characteristic due to the presence of long rigid hairs between the spikelets, which gives them a hairy appearance. The size of the racemes allows us to distinguish it from Echinochloa colonum. It lives in disturbed places and farmlands with moist soils. It flowers in summer and autumn.
