Characteristics : A small plant that looks like a moss lives growing along the ground in shady and wet areas. Branching is dichotomous, and leaves are arranged in four rows atop of the stems. Given that it is a pteridophyte, it has no flowers, but male sporangium (red in colour) and female (green in colour) along the apical portion of some fertile branches. Bears fruit during the winter and spring.
