    Characteristics : It is one of the smallest plants living in the Balearics, only beaten by duckweed; it does not usually reach 5 cm in height and it is normal for it only to reach two to three centimetres. Moreover it is very thin and grows erectly, almost like a thread. However, many individual plants grow together forming a kind of carpet. The flowers, measuring just a few mm, grow in the axils of the leaves, with a pinkish or whitish corolla. In the Balearics it lives only in Menorca, since it grows exclusively in siliceous soils, in very damp places, generally around periodic pools. It flowers at the end of spring.
