    Characteristics : A robust shrub that can grow to 3 m. in height. Characteristic of this species are the dark coloured glands located on the reverse of the folioles; these glands give of an apply aroma, in addition to the very evident brown coloured glands located at the foliole margin. Sepals project out and downwards, and fall off before the urnula matures. This species differs from R. agrestis as it has glands on the reverse of the sepals and pedicels.

    Observations : A classification key is indispensable to correctly identify all of the rose e species.
