Description : This tree can reach up to 25 m in height. Leaf lamina is slightly asymmetric, slightly rhomboidal in aspect, with serrate margins and thicker and softer to the touch than most elm tree leaves. Flowers are arranged in glomerules hugging the stems, and the entire structure has a reddish tone. The samaras are rounded and supported by a short pedicel.
