Description : Evergreen tree 20-30m in height, with a straight trunk and greatly cracked, dark grey bark. The crown is pyramidal and the branches are rigid. The leaves are bi-pinnate, 20-25cm long, with lanceolate segments which are dark green on the upper side and silvery grey on the lower side. The petiole is grey. The flowers bloom in upward-facing racemes. They are golden, 7-10cm long, and filamentous. The fruits are in a flattened, coriaceous, dehiscent, blackish, capsule with a curved point at the tip. It contains 1-2 winged seeds.
