Characteristics : The juniper is frequently found in the pineries of Mallorca and Eivissa, although in Menorca its presence is very rare. It has needle-like leaves, whorls in groups of three, with two white lines on the obverse side. Young branches are normally hanging, giving the plant a ?tousled? appearance. If you peel away at the berries, you can smell the characteristic aroma of the juniper tree.
