    Characteristics : This lavender, which can be found in flower from winter to summer, is recognized by its toothed margins; it has an inflorescence en form of a spike, located atop of a peduncle, which separates it from the leaves. This spike has atop of it a fascicle of violet coloured bracts. Lavandula stoechas, the species of this genus present in the islands, has entire leaves and a spike that is located very close to the leaves.
