    Characteristics : A shrub that lives in the cracks of rock formations of the mountains of Mallorca. Stems and leaves are greyish in colour; leaves are elongate, almost linear, often with small indentations on the superior half. Flowers are grouped into glomerules at the superior portions of the stems and are purple coloured. Has a clear resemblance to Teucrium capitatum, as both pertain to the same group as Teucrium polium. Can recognized from the other two because it lives hanging from rock outcrops, not inside of the garrigue. In the Pitiusses has its own subspecies, subsp. punicum, which is can form part of the littoral shrub communities. Flowers in June.
