Plants protected by law
We have made up a list of the taxons of Balearic Island plants protected by an autonomic, national or European Community law presently in vigour. The protection measures that are currently enforced are: European Directive 92/43/CE (Habitat Directive, 1991), the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats; (Bern Convention 1991), National Law 4/89 (Llei 4/89) that by Royal Decree 439/90 (Real Decret 439/909) which created the National Catalogue of Endangered Plant Species (Catàleg Nacional d'Espècies Vegetals Amenaçades) and the Balearic Autonomic Community Decree 24/92 (Decret 24/92) which created the Balearic Catalogue of Endangered Plant Species (Catàleg Balear d'Espècies Vegetals Amenaçades).
