    Characteristics : An herbaceous, normally erect plant, with axial glomules ending in a terminal panicle. At the apex leaves have a very shallow depression.

    Observations : In Balears there are about ten taxon of the exotic naturalized Amaranthus, and only one autochthonous species (A. graecizans).

    Status : Alien species.
