Characteristics : An annual plant which grows systematically along path- and road-sides, also in disturbed places and neglected flowerbeds. It has a stem which grows erectly, but is not very big, up to 40 cm, and it branches out in long branches for the inflorescences. The leaves are long and narrow, with some teeth along the margins, they are covered in hair. The shape of the leaves makes it possible to differentiate this species from the two other Conyza which can be found in the islands, and which are taller, with lanceolate leaves. The capitula are small; the flowers have such small ligules that it seems as if they do not have any. When it bears fruit it forms a lot of achenes with white pappi, this also differentiates it from the other species of the genus which have yellowish or brownish pappi. It flowers during summer and above all in autumn. This plant comes from America.
Status : Alien species.
