Characteristics : Thickets, holm-oak woods and sparse cork-oak woods on silicic soils. A perennial shrub with branches erect and very pilose. The leaves are trifoliolate and petioles, short; villous on the reverse and glabrescent on the face. The flowers are separate or in groups of 2-4 on the leaf axil. The calyx is bilabiate, with two, not very profound yet dentate labia. The pod (legume) is blackened, oblong, and pilose at the beginning and glabrescent at maturity.
