    Characteristics : A herb which is greatly branched from the base with prostrate branches on the ground, it has a small woody trunk. The leaves are linear and opposite. The whole plant is covered in glandous hiars. The flowers are pink, with petals which are only slightly or not at all longer than the sepals. It can be mistaken for one of the many species of Spergularia in saline, coastal soils; it can be distinguished by its woody trunk and lack of membranous stipules in the leaves. It flowers in spring and autumn.
