    Characteristics : The Cephalanthera are orchids that have a rhizome instead of a tuber, which is the norm for the majority of the other genus of this family. This species has creamy white flowers, which emerge from the axils of a bract, which is longer than the flower itself. The leaves are wide, especially the basal region, this character is allows it to be told apart from Cephalanthera longifolia, as the later has long and narrow leaves. Lives in encinals in shady spots. Flowers in May and June.
