Characteristics: Like all Mediterranean Genistae it is a shrubby plant, in this case not very tall, around half a metre; it is a spiny plant covered with hair, especially the top of the branches. The spines are simple, not branched, which distinguishes it from other spiny Leguminoseae like Ulex parviflorus or Calicotome spinosa. The flowers are yellow and it flowers in spring. It lives in pine woods in Eivissa.
