Characteristics: A small annual herbaceous plant that grows prostrate and pubescent, flowers solitary and axils an intense blue in colour. Each flower with four petals, one slightly smaller than the rest. Leaves are dentate and ovate. Can be differentiated from V. persica as this one has larger flowers and V. arvensis, as this later has leaves opposite instead of alternate.
