Characteristics: A greatly branched shrub, with large, opposite leaves with a dentate magin. The flowers are grouped in inflorescences which look like umbels; the flowers can be yellow and red, often the same inflorescence has a mixture of the two types of colours. It is a species native to tropical America, which is greatly used in our gardens to make hedges; sometimes it can be found naturalizated. It flowers in spring and in summer.
