Characteristics: In Eivissa the rocky violet has some morphological characteristics which differentiate it from the populations in Mallorca and Menorca. They are larger plants, with leaves which are also larger, the flowers have an orange hue, and the pods have quite a different morphology; these differences have meant that Eivissa is considered to have a subspecies which is peculiar to the island: the subspecies grosii.
