Characteristics: A perennial herb common to running water normally rooted in the underlying flooded sediment, although it can also be found in wet soils. An erect glabrous plant, only slightly succulent with leaves opposite and lacking a petiole. Branches out on the upper part of the plant, where the inflorescences can be found. Flowers are small (some 5 mm) and blue; like all Veronica this plant has four petals with the inferior smaller than the others.
