Characteristics: A very erect Gramene, with a long, compact, slim, yellowish-green panicle. It is soft to the touch, but not silky, like what happens with genuses such as Lagurus or Polypogon. It has flat leaves. It lives in meadows, and is very often accompanied by annual cycle species. It prefers siliceous soils, but can also be found in lime soils.
