Characteristics: The panicle of this Gramene consists of spikelets from 3 to 5 cm long including quite a long awn. The size and shape of this species is found in between Bromus rubens, which is smaller and has a compact, erect panicle, and Bromus diandrus which is much larger with a lax, flexible panicle. It lives along path-sides, disturbed areas and in abandoned farmlands.
