Characteristics: This subspecies differs from the type species in that its foliar segments are numerous and shortly spaced between each other, they are normally semi-entire or only slightly dentate at the base. Overall woody and with a tendency to be suffriticose. In extreme cases the two varieties are difficult to distinguish between the two.
