Characteristics: A deciduous tree 8-10m in height, with a straight trunk and leafy crown. The leaves, 6-8cm in length with a long petiole, are normally entire, oval-lanceolate, long-acuminate, sometimes with three lobules. Both the upper and lower sides are glabrous. The flowers are 1cm long, cream coloured, and have red spots on the inside. The follicle is 6-7cm long, woody and black when ripe.
