Characteristics: A small herb from fields and roadsides; flowers are relatively large (up to 1 cm in diameter), an intense blue colour with four petals, one of them slightly smaller than the others. Can be told apart from Veronica polita and Veronica arvensis, as these two species have smaller flowers, additionally, Veronica arvensis has opposite instead of alternate leaves.
