Characteristics: A deciduous tree that can grow up to 35 m. in height, forming a coned shaped crown. Leaves are alternate, rounded, with a dentate margin and asymmetric at the base. Leaves are a bright green and a ligher shade on the leave reverse, a characteristic that distinguishes it from Tilia tomentosa, whose leaf reverse is silvery. Flowers are small, yellowish white, scented, and arranged in cymes with 3-6 flowers. The fruit is spherical, dry with 4-5 marked ribs.
