Characteristics: Paradoxically, Trifolium nigrescens has very white flowers, united in a limp florescence where once fecund, flowers become reflex and dangle from the peduncle. Leaves however, do have wide folioles with black spots. This is an annual plant, while Trifolium repens is perennial. Flowers during the spring.
