Characteristics: This is one more of the many Compositae with yellow capitula; in this case we can distinguish it because the leaf-stalk is thick just beneath the capitulum. The fruits have a ring of sharp, rigid scales. It is a rather small, annual cycle, plant with poorly dentate leaves. It is quite frequent both in small terophitic meadows and along path-sides and moors too.
