Characteristics: A fern with fronds reaching 40 cm. in length, and leathery in texture. The lamina is oblong-lanceolate, (longer than wide), clear green in colour (pinnate or divided). Pinnae are in the form of an egg (ovate). The sori are longer than wide, with a univalvuate indusium.
Observations: This is one of the few fern species that is strictly littoral, as they can be found in cave ceilings that open to the sea, shady spots.
