Characteristics: Gramineae that lives in beaches and dunes. Can be recognized by its stems, which have a tendency to either grow prostrate upon the sand or only slightly up-raised above this substrate. Additionally, the inflorescence has open, but very rigid branches, and the spikelets are elongate and also rigid. The entire plant has light-green colourations and often takes on violet hues. Flowers during the months of May and June.
