Characteristics: One of so many herbs belonging to the Compositae family which have completely yellow capitula. The capitula are found at the top of a long, delicate leaf-stalk. To be sure in distinguishing it we have to find it bearing fruit: there are two types of fruit, the inside ones have a long beak with a silky pappus at the top, the peripheral ones do not have a beak and the pappus is found directly above the fruit. It flowers at the end of spring.
