Characteristics: A climbing plant found often scaling stonewalls and fences, branching out into small fine stems; leaves are rounded with a uniformly toothed margin. The flowers are formed of four white petals, one of them smaller the other three. Subsp. trichadena is differs from the common cymbalaria in appearance, as its leaves are toothed instead of being divided into lobes, a least for one fourth of the leaf; additionally, the leaf hairs are in greater part glandular and shorter, above all those of the capsule, and the flower stems are as well shorter, less than 2 cm. Flowers during the winter.
