Characteristics: This Trifolium native to the siliceous soils found in the north of Menorca, while in Mallorca is quite rare. The stalks and leaves are covered with fine hairs, silky to the touch; flowers are pink, but are very small and remain hidden inside of the calyx; all flowers are grouped in a compact, ovate inflorescence at the superior part of the plant; and, as the calyxes have long silky hairs, the entire inflorescence forms a sort off a hairy ball. The entire plant often takes on reddish hues. Although quite distinct from other Trifolium sps., it wouldn't hurt to check with a classification key. Flowers in spring.
