Characteristics: This tamarisk species has tree-like appearance and develops pink flowers in the younger appendages of the plant. This character easily differentiates it from Tamarix africana, which is also tree-like but develops white flowers on the older segments of the branches. Now, to tell it apart from Tamarix gallica one has to rely on the subtle floral characteristics and the help of a classification key. Flowers from March to May.
