Characteristics: A small annual plant; it has a very thin, erect stem, covered with very narrow linear leaves, all of which makes it a plant that can go unnoticed. The basal leaves are wider, it is also characterised by forming small stolons. If it is in flower it is easier to recognise, because the flowers are bright blue and can be two centimetres long, including a long spur, all of which can be found at the top of the plant in a dense spike. It lives in dry meadows among the bushes in garrigues (Mediterranean woodland), it prefers soils without carbonate. It flowers at the end of spring.
